Chris Johnson @blokeonradio has tweeted some lovely photos of the “old” studio’s at The Pulse, studio’s where I spent many a happy hour. There was a spider, we named “Tiny” who somehow got trapped in between the studio glass. Chris, kindly included a photo of poor old Tiny, who had died! RIP Tiny!!!!

So, it’s been back to school for the majority of the children, including mine. Must admit, there’s been some worry about the safety of them, I think at the moment, keeping your loved ones safe is one of life’s big worries. I just feel that the whole virus mess should have been handled a lot better by those in charge, & certain groups of people are being so selfish, making things a lot worse by not following official advice.

On a positive note, more voice sessions completed I’m pleased to say. Really enjoy starting with just some words, & then ending up with something you can be proud of. I’ve been in contact with someone (not just someone!) who is the “Le Grand Fromage” of television as Del Boy would say, regarding the possibility of using my vocal chords for a certain programme. All positive feedback at the moment, I have absolutely everything crossed that it will all come together. There are certain gig’s you want, and some you really want, this is one of those!!

Have a wonderful weekend & thanks for dropping by. See you soon x

6th September 2020.

Been a sad week with the sad news that Ian Royce passed away. Ian was a massive part of the behind the scenes crew who had the most important job in television. He was the person responsible for warming up the studio audience (and crew!), so that when it came to go live, the whole of the studio were in the best of most moods, creating the perfect ambience. Ian wasn’t just a warm up man, he was one of the funniest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He had a special warmth about him, he had the skills of making you feel at ease whoever you were. He was so genuine, always approachable, someone whose sense of humour & talent will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of working with, & knowing him. I send all my love to Roxanne & family.

19th August 2020.

If you have not heard, Duncan Campbell has suffered ill health which resulted in him being hospitalised. I am sure you join with me in wishing Duncan a speedy, full recovery.

Heard yesterday that Graham Torrington has decided to hang up his headphones and retire from radio after 37 years. I had the pleasure of working with Graham at BRMB & BUZZ FM in Birmingham and can say that he is such a genuine friendly man who’s voice will be sadly missed from the airwaves. Enjoy your retirement Graham!.

21st July 2020

This year seems to be going so fast. I lost my father in February to Dementia. It was the hardest thing seeing him decline over the past three years, seeing such an intelligent man become so confused. The one thing he didn’t lose was his love for his family, and his sense of humour. Now he’s gone, the world seems so empty.

I have been in contact with an “old” friend who I first met while working in Birmingham, Brian Travers from UB40. He’s an amazing musician, arranger & artist. He’s continuing to live life to the full following a major health scare & wish Brian all the very best for a continuing recovery, good health & lots of music to come.

It’s such a shame that UB40 have effectively split into two bands, just hope that one day, differences can be put aside, hands can be shaken, & that they return to being as one. Anyway, Brian tells me that he & the band are continuing to write, could there be some new music soon??!  Brian, not only a huge talent where music is concerned, he’s also an artist in his own right, painting amazing original art, some of which you can purchase. You can view his work here.
